About
About Rinpa
Rinpa teaches you to do gentle lymphatic self-massage at home: step-by-step guides, a video of every move with the direction drawn on it, and a guided version that works in your browser. The technique comes from the public leaflets NHS lymphoedema services give their patients.
The name comes from the Japanese リンパ (rinpa), “lymph”. It has nothing to do with the Japanese school of painting of the same name, though we owe it our palette: mineral green on a warm ground.
Who makes it
Rinpa is a project by Utropia, a small independent studio in Lepe, in southern Spain that makes apps. We have no investors, no advertising and no deals with brands.
Who edits it: José Antonio Neto
José Antonio Neto founded Utropia and answers for what Rinpa publishes: choosing the sources, checking that every claim is in them, deciding what is not published and correcting the mistakes you point out.
José Antonio Neto is not a health professional. That is why Rinpa does not invent technique or give opinions on treatments: it teaches what the clinical leaflets we cite say, and says clearly what is not known.
Clinical review
No health professional has reviewed our content yet, and every guide says so. We want a physiotherapist or nurse trained in lymphoedema to do it; when that happens, their name and registration will appear here and on every page they review. Until then we leave out what needs a clinician: lymphedema, lipedema, pregnancy and recovery after surgery.
How we work
- Editorial policy: where every claim comes from, how we use AI and how we correct mistakes.
- Methodology and sources: the leaflets the technique comes from.
- Medical disclaimer: what Rinpa is and is not.
Contact and press
For anything, including if you are a journalist or a health professional: hello@utropia.es. A person answers, not an automated system.
If you write about Rinpa: it is a web app for guided lymphatic self-massage, based on public NHS leaflets; the guides in the videos are AI-generated; it does not diagnose or treat any condition. The lymph node map is licensed CC BY 4.0, and you can use it with credit.
